I spent around 4 years in Ahmedabad where I got a chance to to taste different varieties of Gujarati foods. When I visited there for the first time, I didn't find those tasty, after a couple of months I started loving those Gujarati dishes. Here are my top 5 cuisines which I ate while i was in Gujarat:
1. Khaman Dhokla:
It was my daily routine to visit near by shop to purchase Khaman Dhokla during my college days. In my first impression, I thought i was like cake, but it was not. It consist of very unique taste which you can take with Jalebi as well.
2. Dabeli:
Its like burger in size but inside ingredient is completely different. If you like sweet bread then you definitely like this one for sure. In Maharastra and Gujarat, Dabeli is very popular.
3. Maska Ban:
Maska ban consists of cheese and jelly with proper dissection on it. It serves with tea. Suggest you guys to try it with coffee during breakfast
4. Sev Tamatar
I left ahmedabad 8 years ago, but i still like to cook it by my own. It took me around 10 days to cook it properly. You need to have onion, sev and tomato to make it home. You can try to cook it by watching video on youtube
5. Non-Veg Dishes (Lal Darwaja)
If you ever visit Ahmedabad, I suggest you to visit Lal Darwaja if you are a fond of non veg dishes. I personally like Chicken fry from Akbari hotel, I don't find that chicken fry anywhere outside Gujarat.
